You can count on the Super Bowl to bring us plenty of new promos for upcoming films, and a new look at 10 Cloverfield Lane is among them.
As with most projects associated with J.J. Abrams, secrecy surrounds much of 10 Cloverfield Lane, which we got a first look at with the surprising first trailer that dropped last month. Abrams has called the film a “blood relative” of 2008’s Cloverfield, but there’s still no official word detailing how the film’s are connected – narratively speaking. Although it certainly appears that we’re in for another creature fest.
The new promo below offers up some new footage from the picture, which sees Mary Elizabeth Winstead playing Michelle, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man (John Goodman) who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. We see Michelle try and escape, before the final shot drives home a bit of what this outside threat could be.
10 Cloverfield Lane opens in Australia on March 10 and in the U.S. on March 11.
