Netflix has released the official trailer for the fourth and final season of the controversial high school drama series 13 Reasons Why.
It’s the final school year for these oh-so troubled students at Liberty High – and their messed up run isn’t about to get any easier. Justice for Monty seems to be on the mind of a certain newcomer, as secrets and lies – particularly related to Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) – threaten to come out in the open.
This was a big series for Netflix, arguably further fuelled by the controversy sparked by its depiction of suicide and rape involving young people (the first season’s culminating suicide scene was even edited out). But while the audience numbers have been strong enough to drive the show for now three more seasons, the critical opinion has certainly taken a nosedive. As per Rotten Tomatoes, for example, season 1 hit a 78%, season 2 dropped to a 28%, and season 3 landed with a shocking 12%. Fingers crossed that the series concludes with a worthy chapter.
13 Reasons Why season 4 will be hitting Netflix on June 4.
