2020 Academy Awards: Complete Nominations List

The nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards have been announced!

Joker has earned the most Oscar nominations, with Best Picture, Actor and Director among its eleven. The Irishman, 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood tied for second spot, with 10 nominations each.

Nine films are up for Best Picture, including The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, Marriage Story and Bong Joon Ho’s acclaimed South Korean film Parasite. The latter is also up for Best International Film and Director.

Among the acting nods, Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Adam Driver (Marriage Story) are among the Best Actor noms, although Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) appears to be the one to beat. Charlize Theron (Bombshell) and Renée Zellweger (Judy) are among the Best Actress noms; could Zellweger follow up her Golden Globe win with her second Oscar? Aussie star Margot Robbie (Bombshell) has earned her second nomination with a Best Supporting Actress nod, while Tom Hanks (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) has his first nomination in 19 years with a Best Supporting Actor nod.

The fight is looking to be between Golden Globe Best Film winners 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, although Little Women and Joker could come in as the surprising high earners. Speaking of the Golden Globes, a number of those nominees and winners were arguably snubbed here, including no nominations for The Farewell‘s director Lulu Wang (or any other female director, for that matter) and star Awkwafina; no Taron Egerton for Rocketman; no Jennifer Lopez for Hustlers; no Robert De Niro for The Irishman; and no Frozen 2, among others.

So, who and what will win? Check out the complete list below. The 2020 Academy Awards will be taking place – without a host – on February 9.
