‘Before’ Trailer: Billy Crystal Gets Dark With Haunting Apple TV+ Series

Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer for Before, a psychological thriller limited series that finds Billy Crystal in much darker territory than we’re used to. Take a look above.

Crystal, who also serves as an executive producer of the series, plays Eli, a child psychiatrist grappling with the recent loss of his wife, Lynn (Judith Light). Things take a chilling turn when a young boy named Noah (played by Jacobi Jupe), covered in blood, shows up at Eli’s doorstep. An unsettling connection between the two begins to unfold through cryptic drawings and disturbing revelations. As Eli tries to help the boy, it becomes evident that Noah may hold a mysterious tie to Eli’s own past.

The trailer offers glimpses of eerie scenes, including Noah’s unnerving stare and his cryptic accusation: “You know what you did.” Looks like we’ll be asking ourselves what’s real and what isn’t in this exploration of grief and unresolved trauma. The cast includes Judith Light as Eli’s deceased wife (does Eli have anything, in one way or another, to do with her demise?), Rosie Perez, Maria Dizzia, and Ava Lalezarzadeh.

Before is created by Sarah Thorp (Damien, The Bounty Hunter), who also serves as the showrunner and executive producer, with Crystal executive producing alongside a team that includes Academy Award winner Eric Roth, Adam Bernstein, and Jet Wilkinson. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios.

The first two episodes of Before will debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, 25 October, with new episodes rolling out every Friday until episode ten, the series finale, on 20 December.
