‘A Quiet Place Part 2’ Trailer: Emily Blunt Finds Other Survivors in Horror Sequel

Paramount Pictures

The first big trailer for 2020 has arrived!

Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for A Quiet Place Part II, the follow-up to the 2018 hit starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. The latter returns at the helm for the sequel, which finds the remaining members of the Abbott family stepping away from their farm and into the wider world.

Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe return as the Abbott children, with Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou on board as other survivors. As the strong first trailer unveils, the sequel will also be offering us a look at when these sound-sensitive monsters first attacked, with Blunt and co. in a wonderfully-shot car sequence that reminds of Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds and Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men.

The first film was fantastic; a tightly constructed nail-biter that juiced its contained setting nicely. It’s not a film that needed a sequel, but that ending certainly left the door wide open for one. Let’s hope Krasinski, who is sole writer here after co-writing the first, can strike twice.

A Quiet Place Part II will be arriving in Australia on March 19 and opens in the US on March 20.

Official synopsis for A Quiet Place Part II:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
