“From the darker side of director Paul Feig” reads the new trailer released for A Simple Favour, the upcoming thriller starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.
Indeed, A Simple Favour looks like a much more serious film from the director of comedy hits such as Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat. The film follows Stephanie (Kendrick), a vlogger who becomes friends with the mysterious Emily (Lively). When Emily suddenly disappears, Stephanie begins to uncover that there may have been much more to Emily than met the eye.
It looks like a slick thriller with roles that appear to suit the stars perfectly. We can probably expect twists and turns galore; let’s just hope the revelations are juicy enough and delivered with gusto. Screenwriter Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story, Nerve) adapted the book of the same name by Darcey Bell.
A Simple Favour, also starring Henry Golding, Linda Cardellini and Rupert Friend, will be hitting US cinemas on September 14 and arrives in Australia on September 20.
