‘Abominable’ Trailer: DreamWorks Animation Teams Up with China for Yeti Adventure

Universal Pictures

The first trailer has been released for Abominable, an upcoming CG-animated feature from DreamWorks Animation and Chinese film production company Pearl Studio.

The movie is set in Shanghai and follows a teenager, Yi (Chloe Bennet, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), who discovers a young Yeti living on the roof of her building. With the help of her friends, Yi embarks on a journey to reunite the Yeti with his family, located at the highest point on Earth.

DreamWorks Animation delivered the emotional How to Train Your Dragon franchise, and they remind you as much in the trailer below. This could be another heartfelt outing for the studio, which is aiming to expand its audience nicely by teaming with Pearl Studio and putting the spotlight on Chinese culture. It could make a mint. Check out the sweet trailer.

Abominable, also featuring voice work from Albert Tsai, Sarah Paulson, and Tenzing Norgay Trainor, hits Australian cinemas on September 19 and US cinemas on September 27.
