Actors Considered for Batman in Batman-Superman Film

Christian Bale has explicitly said that he won’t be returning as Batman again. A big-ass paycheck may change his mind, but there’s already a list of actors being looked at to play the Dark Knight in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman-Superman film.

The Hollywood Reporter has released the names of those actors being considered. The new Batman must be “in the late 30s or around the 40 mark. He will be established and rugged”.

Meet the contenders:

Josh Brolin

Ryan Gosling

Joe Manganiello

Richard Armitage

Max Martini

Matthew Goode

Matthew Goode

Here’s the quote that was read during the Comic-Con announcement of the Batman-Superman film:

“In all the years to come, in all the most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you.”

The quote refers to a storyline in which Batman tricks Superman with Kryptonite. He beats up Superman and proceeds to fake his own death. Snyder says that they won’t be using that quote as the film’s source, but it will help them with the direction they want to take.

Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer (U.S. season) 2015.

What do you guys think of the actors up for the important role?
