Netflix has released an amusing scene from their buzzed-about rom-com Always Be My Maybe, which is currently streaming on the service.
Comedians Ali Wong and Randall Park star as two childhood friends that meet again years after having a fallout. They’ve hit very different paths, but the chemistry is still there. A ‘will they or won’t they’ plot ensues. The film has been enjoying quite the welcoming response from audiences, and with good reason: it’s very likaeable. No, plotwise it’s nothing you haven’t really seen before in many rom-coms, but the two leads are very charming and there’s a feel-good vibe throughout that proves infectious. It’s an easy night in.
One of the film’s great surprises is Keanu Reeves, who’s hilarious in a couple of scenes as a guy Ali Wong’s character is dating. Reeves plays himself… if he were a douchie Hollywood star that embraces the cringiest aspects of a self-important show off. “The only stars that matter… are the ones you look at when you dream.” Brilliance.

Synopsis for Always Be My Maybe:
Childhood friends Sasha and Marcus have a falling out and don’t speak for 15 years. Though the two are reluctant to reconnect, they soon find the old sparks — and maybe some new ones — are there.
