The trailer has been released for Amazing Stories, the upcoming Apple TV+ anthology series executive produced by Steven Spielberg.
A reimagining of Spielberg’s original anthology series that ran for two seasons from 1985 to 1987, this new anthology will transport the audience to worlds of wonder through the lens of today’s most imaginative filmmakers, directors and writers.
The big cast also includes Dylan O’Brien (Maze Runner), Victoria Pedretti (You), Josh Holloway, Sasha Alexander, Edward Burns, and the late Robert Forster (bittersweet to see him playing a super-powered granddad), among others. Directors include Chris Long (The Americans), Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones), Michael Dinner (Unbelievable), Susanna Fogel (Utopia), and Sylvain White (Stomp The Yard).
This was one of the first shows announced by Apple when they announced their streaming service. Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Star Trek Discovery, American Gods) and Hart Hanson were originally behind the show, but they left in early 2018 over creative differences. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, creators of Once Upon a Time, were brought on as new showrunners/executive producers and wrote the series.
Yep, it looks oh-so Spielbergian, which will hopefully mean that we’re going to be in for some wondrous adventures filled with energy and heart. Fingers crossed. The 5 episodes will be hitting Apple’s streaming service on March 6.
