The first official trailer has dropped for Amityville: The Awakening, the soon-to-be-released horror film starring Bella Thorne.
The film tells of what goes down when Belle (Thorne) and her family, including her comatose twin brother, move into a haunted house. Apart from the inclusion of a comatose character, it’s all very familiar stuff. The tropes are all here for fans of easy horror, with jump scares, creepy crawlies, dream sequences, and even unsettling kids all thrown in the mix. We’re not too confident what’s on offer is great, but we’ll be giving it a shot come release time.
Written and directed by Franck Khalfoun, who previously helmed P2 and the Elijah Wood-starring slasher Maniac.
Amityville: The Awakening, also starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan, Kurtwood Smith and Mckenne Grace, opens in the U.S. on April 1.
