The flock is getting back together. Paramount Pictures has officially announced that The Angry Birds Movie 3 is set for a global theatrical release on January 29th, 2027.
The cast has also been confirmed, with Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride all returning to voice Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb, respectively. There’s also a long list of newcomers joining the franchise: Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Walker Scobell, Sam Richardson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, James Austin Johnson, and Psalm West.
John Rice, who directed the first film, returns to the director’s chair. The script comes from Angry Birds Movie 2 writer Thurop Van Orman, who is also executive producing alongside Toru Nakahara. The producing team includes John Cohen, Dan Chuba, and Carla Connor, with Heitor Pereira returning to handle the score after composing the music for the first two.
Producer John Cohen called the voice cast “an all-star ensemble of comedic talent”, adding, “Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Rachel and Danny returning to voice their fantastic characters, but they’re surrounded by some of the funniest people out there today.”

The Angry Birds movies, based on Rovio Entertainment’s franchise, have proven to be a reliable draw. The first film, released in 2016, was a box office success, pulling in over $US353 million globally from a $US73 million budget. The 2019 sequel didn’t quite match that momentum but still managed a respectable $US147 million worldwide off a $US65 million budget.
This third instalment will mark a shift in distribution, with Paramount taking over from Sony. The studio had already reserved the January 2027 slot for a family event release and clearly sees the franchise as a safe bet.
