This project just can’t seem to get off the ground.
Relativity Studios’ planned take on The Crow has lost actor Jack Huston, according to Variety.
Huston, known for playing Richard Harrow in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, came on board to star as the undead avenger after Luke Evans decided to step down. “I can’t wait much longer!” Evans had been quoted as saying.
“Jack Huston is unfortunately unavailable to continue with us on The Crow,” director Corin Hardy said in a statement.
“The Crow is an amazing project, and I am grateful that we have the time and patience to get it right. We look forward to unveiling our new lead and starting to film over the next several weeks.”
Variety reports that Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken), among others, are currently being eyed to take on the lead role.
“Corin Hardy has a tremendous vision for The Crow, and we are working closely with him to continue prepping the movie and supporting him as he brings his vision to the bigscreen,” Relativity said in their statement.
The new version of The Crow is currently in pre-production in Wales.
