Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the upcoming MCU adventure that brings back Paul Rudd as the titular Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, and Evangeline Lilly as the titular The Wasp, aka Hope Van Dyne.
This time, Scott and Hope – together with Hope’s parents (Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, and Janet Van Dyne, Michelle Pfeiffer) and Scott’s daughter (Cassie Lang, now played by Kathryn Newton) – find themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
The trailer also unveils Jonathan Majors as Kang, who’s also known as Kang the Conquerer in Marvel Comics. Kang is shaping up to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s big bad following Thanos, so it will be interesting to see why exactly he’s in the Quantum Realm and just what he needs from Ant-Man. For those wondering if they’ve seen Majors in the Marvel universe before – you have: he played He Who Remains in the important final episode of Loki‘s first season.
Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp director Peyton Reed returns at the helm, directing from a screenplay by Jeff Loveness (Rick and Morty, Miracle Workers), who is also writing 2025 Avengers film, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the MCU, arrives in Australia on February 16th and hits the U.S. on February 17th, 2023.
