The first teaser trailer has arrived for Avatar: Seven Havens, and the next Avatar is entering a world that wants nothing to do with her. Unveiled during the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the footage introduces young Earthbender Pavi, her long-lost twin, a civilisation hanging by a thread and a brief appearance from Korra that raises some very uncomfortable questions. The reveal comes as the animated feature Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender makes its debut. While that film follows Aang and his friends as adults, Seven Havens pushes the animated timeline forward with the Avatar who succeeds Korra.

The New Avatar Is Humanity’s Most Wanted
Set after the events of The Legend of Korra, the new series takes place in a world torn apart by a devastating cataclysm. Humanity has retreated into the Seven Havens, with Pavi living in the sandy, windswept city of Allura.
This is not an era waiting eagerly for the Avatar to return. The survivors believe the previous Avatar failed them, turning a title once associated with balance and protection into something closer to a death sentence.
The trailer offers a quick look at Korra in the Avatar State as destruction unfolds around her. Whether she caused the catastrophe, failed to prevent it or has simply become a convenient figure to blame remains unclear, but the shadow she leaves behind will be difficult for her successor to escape.
One Avatar, Two Earthbending Sisters
Voiced by Saheli Khan, Pavi discovers that she is the next Avatar after Korra, giving her the ability to eventually command air, water, earth and fire. The footage also reveals that she uses a prosthetic leg. That would already be plenty for one child to process. Then she learns she has a long-lost twin.
Nisha, voiced by Aishu Devan, appears to be an Earthbender as well, although the circumstances surrounding the sisters’ separation and their shared origins remain a mystery. Together, they must stay ahead of enemies from both the human and spirit worlds while attempting to stop the last remaining strongholds of civilisation from collapsing.
Pavi will not be making the journey alone. She is joined by Jae, an Airbender who serves as her mentor and friend, as well as Geet, her four-legged cat-monkey companion.
The Original Avatar Creators Are Back
Franchise creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko return as co-creators and executive producers, with Ethan Spaulding also executive producing and Sehaj Sethi serving as co-executive producer. The 2D-animated series comprises 26 half-hour episodes divided across two 13-episode books.
The voice cast also includes Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin and Dianne Doan as Zi.
Longtime franchise performer Dee Bradley Baker, who voiced Appa, Momo, Naga and Pabu, continues his reign over the animal kingdom as Geet and Ruhi, Pavi and Nisha’s respective monkey-cat and cat-monkey companions.
