20th Century Studios has unveiled the official trailer (you can watch the teaser trailer HERE) and a new poster for sci-fi sequel Avatar: The Way of Water, James Cameron’s long-awaited follow-up to his 2009 epic.
The film catches up with the Sully family, which now includes children, and finds them battling to stay alive as trouble continues to follow them. Plenty of emotion in the trailer, teasing a sprawling story that looks to bring in the children as primary characters and another giant war that showcases mindblowing technology. As a fan of the first film, I’m already in line to see what Cameron has in store here.
Cameron directs from a screenplay he penned with Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, writers of the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy and Jurassic World. The cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet, among others.
Avatar: The Way of Water opens in Australian cinemas on December 15th and in U.S. cinemas on December 16th (this writer’s bday!). Check out the new trailer below and the latest official poster beneath it.
