The very first trailer has dropped for Baby Driver, the upcoming action-thriller from writer-director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The World’s End).

Ansel Elgort plays Baby, a young getaway driver who decides he’s going to leave the world of crime when he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James). Of course, it won’t be easy, especially with a dangerous crime boss (Kevin Spacey) out to get him following a doomed heist.

This looks great. Wright’s energetic stylings and infectious wit are on display here, with what looks like a fun narrative fueled by the soundtrack on our lead character’s earphones. And there’s a great cast as well. Let’s hope this ends up being as good as it looks.

Baby Driver also stars Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal, Eiza González and Jon Hamm. The film arrives in Australia on August 10 and hits US screens on August 11.
