After almost a decade since stepping away from Hollywood, Cameron Diaz officially returning to the screen. Take a look above at the official teaser trailer that Netflix has released for Back in Action, a pricey-looking action-comedy that sees Diaz team up again with Jamie Foxx, her co-star from Any Given Sunday and Annie.
This time, the two stars takes on the roles of Emily and Matt, ex-CIA agents turned parents, whose quiet life is upended when they’re forced back into the world of espionage. The trailer gives a glimpse at Diaz and Foxx in some explosive action as they’re thrown back into mayhem. “Just like old times, baby!” Foxx says as he fist bumps Diaz, leaving a flipped car in their rearview.
Alongside Diaz and Foxx, the cast features a few big names who don’t appear in the teaser, including Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, and Kyle Chandler.
Director here is Seth Gordon, known for titles like Horrible Bosses and 2017’s Baywatch. Gordon penned the screenplay alongside Brendan O’Brien, whose comedy credits include the two Bad Neighbours films, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and Our House.
Back in Action will be streaming on Netflix from on 17 January 2025.
