Netflix has released a big new trailer for Back in Action ahead of the film’s release on 17 January.
This one’s bound to be a must-see for Cameron Diaz fans — it’s the star’s long-awaited return to the screen after nearly a decade. The film reunites Diaz with Jamie Foxx, her co-star in Any Given Sunday and Annie.
The plot finds Diaz and Foxx playing Emily and Matt, seemingly ordinary parents with a not-so-ordinary past: they’re ex-CIA operatives. Or, at least they were.

“We’re on a mission, and we take this opportunity where people might think we’re dead, to disappear off the face of the planet and start a new life and raise our family,” Diaz explained to Netflix site Tudum. No prizes for guessing that their past catches up with them, throwing them… you know, the title.
The trailer offers up a taste of some of the big action in store, including an airplane crash sequence, and a glimpse of the extended cast. The ensemble includes Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Andrew Scott (Fleabag), Jamie Demetriou (Barbie), McKenna Roberts (Skyscraper), and Rylan Jackson (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves).
Back in Action was directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Baywatch), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Brendan O’Brien (Bad Neighbors, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates).
