The first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been revealed. Similar to Zack Snyder’s pic reveal of Ben Affleck in costume as Batman, the pic won’t be giving you much in the way of plot reveals. What it does do is further the “dark” tone that the sequel to Man of Steel looks to have. The picture, first released via Twitter and Facebook, sees Henry Cavill standing in a dark city, as the heavy rain pours down. It’s certainly a gloomy image, teasing the fact that this city could very well be Gotham.
In other Batman v Superman news, director Zack Snyder has clarified why the title has a ‘v’ as opposed to a ‘vs’. Here’s what USA Today had to say after a recent interview with Snyder:
The director can’t say exactly how the relationship between the two superheroes evolves, “but suffice it to say there is a ‘v’ in between their names” in the movie title, Snyder says. He explains that having the “v” instead of “vs.” is a way “to keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, will be released on May 6, 2016.
