A behind-the-scenes featurette has dropped for Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s extravagant live-action take on the classic animated film.
“The question becomes, why remake something that’s perfect?” director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 & 2) says in the short but sweet marketing piece below. “Part of it was this great opportunity to tell it in a live-action, fully photo-real version, and distinguish Belle again 25 years later as a 21st century heroine.”
“When you love something that much, you really want to do it justice,” adds lead actress Emma Watson.
There will be many, many, many unhappy people if this film isn’t up to scratch. The hype has been huge, no doubt helped by the wonderful trailers that have been released thus far. Fingers crossed.
Beauty and the Beast, also starring Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Josh Gad and Emma Thompson, will open in the US on March 17 and arrives in Australia on March 23.
