Netflix has officially announced the release date for Beef season 2. The anthology series returns on April 16, bringing a fresh story and a new set of characters led by a seriously strong cast.
Rather than picking up with Danny and Amy, season 2 resets the board entirely. A different feud, a different social ecosystem, and a new set of personalities ready to make questionable decisions. Here’s what we know so far.

What is Beef season 2 about?
Season 2 begins when a young couple witnesses a volatile confrontation between their boss and his wife. Instead of staying a private meltdown, the incident kicks off a chain reaction of favours, leverage, and quiet coercion inside the insulated world of a country club, one connected to a Korean billionaire owner.
Like season 1, the tension here doesn’t seem to hinge on the initial spark so much as what it unlocks. With that set-up, we can expect ego, resentment, class pressure, and self-interest to stack up fast.
Who’s in the cast of Beef season 2?
Leading the new ensemble are Oscar Isaac as Josh and Carey Mulligan as Lindsay. They’re joined by Cailee Spaeny as Ashley, Charles Melton as Austin, Youn Yuh-jung as Chairwoman Park, Song Kang-ho as Dr. Kim, Seoyeon Jang as Eunice, William Fichtner as Troy, Mikaela Hoover as Ava, and musician BM making his acting debut as Woosh.
Who’s behind the scenes this time?
Creator Lee Sung Jin returns as showrunner and executive producer, with A24 once again producing. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, stars of the first season, remain involved as executive producers alongside Jake Schreier, Charles Melton, Mulligan, Isaac, and Spaeny.
How many episodes?
Season 2 will run for eight episodes, each running 30 minutes. Season 1 had ten episodes, but the tight runtime suggests they’re keeping the lean structure that helped season 1 stay sharp and tightly paced.
A quick refresher on Beef season 1
The first season followed a road rage incident that spiralled into an obsessive psychological war between struggling contractor Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and outwardly successful entrepreneur Amy Lau (Ali Wong). Over ten episodes, their grudge slowly hollowed out their relationships, careers, and sense of control.
Inspired by a real-life encounter experienced by Lee, the series premiered in 2023 and went on to become one of the most awarded anthology shows of the 2023 to 2024 season, picking up major wins across the Emmys, Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, SAG Awards, and more.
With a new setting, a different social hierarchy, and a fresh set of combustible personalities, Beef season 2 looks set to explore the same uncomfortable emotional territory, just from a very different angle when it arrives this April.
