Following the enticing teaser released in March, Netflix has now released the official trailer for Beef season 2, offering a bigger look at the next chapter of the anthology series. A New ‘Beef’ with a Different Bite
Season 2 tells a completely new story, separate from the events of season 1, with a fresh cast and a new central conflict. This time, we follow Gen Z couple Ashley (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin (Charles Melton), low-level country club employees who find themselves pulled into the unraveling marriage of their boss, Josh (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay (Carey Mulligan). What begins as an unsettling encounter quickly escalates, with both couples becoming entangled in a web of favours, manipulation, and social pressure.

Creator Lee Sung Jin describes the shift in tone quite clearly, telling Tudum: “Season 1’s beef is so overt and aggressive. I thought Season 2 should be the inverse: a passive-aggressive beef, which is more true to life, especially in a workplace.”
Relationships Under Pressure
At its core, season 2 leans heavily into how relationships evolve over time. Ashley and Austin are still in that early stage, largely untested and optimistic about what lies ahead. Josh and Lindsay, meanwhile, are years into their marriage, and the cracks are hard to ignore.
“Austin and Ashley think all they need is each other and the beach,” Lee says. “So when we meet them, they are thrust into intersecting with our millennial couple. It’ll be interesting to see with these two how they react to life’s first real struggles.”
That contrast between early hope and lived experience becomes a key thread, with the younger couple forced to confront a version of their possible future sooner than expected.
An Ensemble Cast and Expanding World
Alongside the central couples, the season introduces a broader cast tied to the elite Monte Vista Point country club. Youn Yuh-jung plays Chairwoman Park, the billionaire owner whose approval both couples seek, while Song Kang-ho appears as her husband, Dr. Kim, whose own situation adds further complications.
The cast also includes Seoyeon Jang as Eunice, William Fichtner as Troy, Mikaela Hoover as Ava, and musician BM making his acting debut as Woosh.
Behind the scenes, Lee returns as creator, showrunner, and executive producer, with season 1 stars Ali Wong and Steven Yeun staying involved as executive producers.
