A new trailer has dropped for Before I Wake, an upcoming horror film starring Room‘s Jacob Tremblay as a boy whose dreams come to life.
Tremblay, who really, really should have been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in Room, plays Body, an 8-year-old adopted by Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark (Thomas Jane). The parents find they’re in for more than they bargained for when they learn the child’s dreams, and nightmares, manifest in reality as he sleeps. Creeeeeepy stuff ensues.
The trailer provides a decent enough look at a horror film that appears serviceable, if nothing really special. We may have seen a lot of this before, but the dream element does suggest we could be in for more creative scares. That being said, director Mike Flanagan has some good horror pics on his C.V., including Oculus and Hush, so we’ll definitely be giving this a look.
Before I Wake hits U.S. screens on September 9.
