Take a look at the chat we were lucky enough to have with Noah Segan, the director, writer, producer and one of the two leads of Shudder release Blood Relatives.
The vampire horror-comedy has Segan playing Francis, a 115-year-old Yiddish vampire who still looks 35. Francis has been roaming American backroads in his beat-up muscle car for decades, keeping to himself, and liking it that way. One day, a teenager named Jane, played by Victoria Moroles, shows up saying that she’s his daughter – and she’s got the fangs to prove it. They both hit the road, deciding whether to sink their teeth into family life.
We discuss what it was like making his first feature as director, juggling so many responsibilities, working with Victoria Moroles and what she brought to the production, his favourite vampire films, bribing goats, and the importance of visiting the bathroom when you can.
Keep an eye out for Blood Relatives, streaming on Shudder from November 22nd. Interview above and trailer below!
