‘Books of Blood’ Trailer Unleashes Horror from the Mind of Clive Barker

Could be one for horror fiends to put on their list here.

Hulu has released the official trailer for Books of Blood, a film adaptation of Clive Barker’s acclaimed and influential horror book anthology series of the same name. The streamer describes the plot as “a journey into uncharted territory through three tales tangled in space and time” – and as you can see, there looks to be a smorgasbord of creepiness in store. The cast includes Britt Robertson, Anna Friel, Rafi Gavron, Yul Vazquez and Cory Lee.

This is the first feature as director for Brannon Braga, who’s worked for years in the television realm (co-creator of Star Trek: Enterprise, creator of Salem). Barker and Seth MacFarlane on board as executive producers.

There’s always the possibility of an anthology film series or sequels coming from Books of Blood, seeing as Barker’s literary collection has six books in total, with each containing around five stories. His tales have spawned various screen adaptations over the years, including Candyman and The Midnight Meat Train.

Books of Blood will be hitting Hulu on October 7th.
