‘Bring Them Down’ Trailer: Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott Clash in Tense Irish Thriller

MUBI has unveiled the official trailer for Bring Them Down, a tense, Ireland-shot thriller led by Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Christopher Abbott (Possessor). Watch it above.

The film centres on Michael (Abbott), the last remaining son of a shepherding family, who lives in isolation with his ailing father, Ray (Colm Meaney). Haunted by a dark secret, Michael’s secluded existence is disrupted when a conflict with rival farmer Gary (Paul Ready) and his son Jack (Keoghan) ignites into a violent feud. The escalating tensions force Michael to confront the buried horrors of his past, forever altering the fates of both families.

The trailer offers a glimpse at what looks like a brooding, atmospheric thriller, with a stark and haunting Irish backdrop. And you can’t really do wrong by having two highly reliable stars such as Keoghan and Abbott, both of whom are also on board as executive producers.

Directed by Christopher Andrews, making his feature debut, the project features a supporting cast that includes Nora-Jane Noone (The Magdalene Sisters) and Susan Lynch (Happy Valley). Notably, Paul Mescal and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles until development delays pushed them out.

MUBI is set to release Bring Them Down U.S. cinemas on 7 February.
