New ‘Captive State’ Trailer Unveils More of the Intriguing Alien Invasion Thriller

A new trailer has arrived for Captive State, shedding a little more light and providing even more questions surrounding the upcoming alien invasion thriller.

As per the film’s official synopsis, the film is “set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force” and “explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.”

The drip-feed marketing is a smart move for this one (first teaser HERE), driving up intrigue without giving away too much footage. There are a few moments in the trailer below that will give that pause button a workout. We’re excited at the potential here; a great premise, Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt at the helm, and a cast that includes John Goodman and Vera Farmiga. Here’s hoping.

Captive State, also starring Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors and Machine Gun Kelly, will be opening in the US on 29 March 2019.
