New ‘Captive State’ Trailer Depicts Humanity Split Under Alien Rule

Entertainment One

Check out the big new trailer released for upcoming alien invasion thriller Captive State.

We get a decent amount of new footage in the trailer below, depicting a world that’s been under alien rule for a decade. Two sides of humanity have formed: those collaborating with the extra terrestrials and those that have opted to fight back against the invading species.

It looks like a very interesting sci-fi film, showcasing a potentially strong study of fascism amongst the alien thrills. The glimpses of the creepy aliens are enticing, too.

It’s always a positive thing to have John Goodman and Vera Farmiga, and it’s great to see Moonlight and The Equalizer 2 actor Ashton Sanders land another big gig. Directing is Rupert Wyatt, whose credits include Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler and The Escapist.

Captive State will be hitting US cinemas on March 29, 2019. Entertainment One is releasing the film in Australian cinemas; a national release date is pending.
