‘Catfight’ Trailer: Anne Heche vs Sandra Oh… for years

Anne Heche and Sandra Oh are at each other’s throats – for years – in the upcoming dark satirical comedy Catfight.

The film tells of two former college friends: Veronica (Oh), a rich housewife, and Ashley (Heche), a struggling artist. The two collide when they inadvertently meet at a cocktail party, where the first of many fisticuffs ensues.

This looks great. Heche and Oh look to be putting in great performances as two women determined to one another down, pointing the finger at each other for the state of their lives. Early reviews point out that social commentary is a primary focus here, and the biting satire is certainly evident in the trailer below.

Written and directed by Onur Tukel, known for small festival indies such as Richard’s Wedding, Summer of Blood and Applesauce.

Catfight, also starring Alicia Silverstone, Justin Ahdoot, Dylan Baker and Tituss Burgess, will have a digital release and a limited theatrical US release on March 3. Keep an eye out.

Synopsis for Catfight:

In this action comedy, two former college friends, who now find themselves in very different walks of life, meet up at a fancy cocktail party: Veronica (Sandra Oh) has become the entitled, wine-loving wife of a rich businessman, while Ashley (Anne Heche), along with her lover Lisa (Alicia Silverstone), struggles to make ends meet as an artist. As the two women reconnect, long-buried hostilities, jealousy, and anger explode into a vicious, bloody fight that leaves both of them battered and bruised – and ready for more.
