Last week, Volvo released an ad promoting “the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering”. The ad featured Jean-Claude Van Damme doing his famous splits while in between two reversing trucks. It was an impressive feat, generating nearly 38 million YouTube views thus far. Unsurprisingly, parodies have started popping up. One of these parodies comes from Channing Tatum, on the set of the upcoming 22 Jump Street. Tatum attempts to replicate Van Damme’s splits “to demonstrate the stability and precision of the food carts on the set of 22 Jump Street“. It doesn’t quite go according to plan.
It’s a smart bit of easy marketing for the upcoming sequel, starring Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube.
For those that haven’t seen Volvo’s original ad…
In the action-comedy 22 Jump Street, after making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college.
