Chucky is back, and he’s got technology on his side.
An energetic new trailer has arrived for Child’s Play, the latest entry in the franchise that began back in ’88. Mark Hamill puts his voice skills to work as our new Chucky, who is this time causing havoc as a technology-heavy new toy called Buddi. Aubrey Plaza plays Karen Barclay, a mother who decides to buy this toy for her lonely son, Andy (Gabriel Bateman). Bad. Idea.
Fingers crossed for this one. It looks like it could offer up some bloody fun, especially with Chucky’s new-found features. Murder by drone, anyone? The film is directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) and written by Tyler Burton Smith (Quantum Break).
Child’s Play, also starring Brian Tyree Henry and David Lewis, arrives in Australia on June 20 and hits US cinemas on June 21.
A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, CHILD’S PLAY follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.
