Chris Pratt will be making his return to the small screen with a conspiracy thriller series that’s landed at Amazon Studios.
The Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star will be starring in and executive producing The Terminal List, a series based on the bestselling 2018 novel by former Navy SEAL and Special Ops team leader Jack Carr.
Multiple streamers had interest in this project, which spawned from Pratt acquiring the rights to the book and teaming up with filmmaker Antoine Fuqua to take it to MRC Television. Fuqua, known for films such as Training Day, Shooter, Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer films, and who directed Pratt in the 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven, will be on board as director and executive producer.
The Terminal List, to be written and exec produced by David DiGilio (Crossbones, Strange Angel), will have Pratt playing a Navy SEAL whose entire platoon is ambushed during a high-stakes mission. He returns home with muddled memories of what went down and questioning his own culpability in the event. He soon discovers troubling new evidence that suggests dark forces are working against him, threatening both him and those he loves.
Amazon says that at least half the show’s writing staff will consist of veterans and those with veterans in their families.
Also on Pratt’s horizon: Jurassic World: Dominion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Tomorrow War, the latter a near future-set sci-fi action film about soldiers from the past being drafted to fight in a war against aliens.
