‘The Christmas Chronicles 2’ Trailer: Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn Fight to Save Xmas in Netflix Sequel

Netflix

Kurt Russell returns as Santa Claus in the Netflix sequel The Christmas Chronicles 2.

The trailer has arrived for the follow-up to the streamer’s 2018 family adventure, which we were pleasantly surprised with. After saving Christmas two years ago, siblings Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy (Judah Lewis) find themselves on another adventure with Santa – and Mrs Claus (Goldie Hawn) – as a troubled boy, Belsnickel (Deadpool 2 and Hunt for the Wilderpeople‘s Julian Dennison), threatens to destroy the beloved holiday for good.

The sequel is directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone / and the Chamber of Secrets), who has also co-written the screenplay with the first film’s scribe, Matt Lieberman. Columbus certainly has some big films on his resume; hopefully those family movie hits are a sign we’re in for a worthy follow-up to what was quite a fun holiday flick.

The Christmas Chronicles 2 will be streaming on Netflix from November 25th.

Official synopsis for The Christmas Chronicles 2:

It’s been two years since siblings Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis) saved Christmas, and a lot has changed. Kate, now a cynical teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend and his son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). Unwilling to accept this new version of her family, Kate decides to run away. But when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate and Jack are unexpectedly pulled into a new adventure with Santa Claus (Kurt Russell).

Written and directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter) and co-starring Goldie Hawn, The Christmas Chronicles 2 is an action-packed adventure for the whole family that’s full of heart, humor, and holiday spirit.
