Cameras are officially rolling on season 3 of Colin from Accounts, with production now underway in Sydney as the breakout Aussie series prepares to put Gordon and Ashley through even more emotional chaos, and yes, Colin is right in the middle of it. The third season was officially greenlit in April 2025.

The Gotham, AACTA and Logie Award-winning series from creators, writers and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer returns in the immediate aftermath of that excruciating season 2 finale. Gordon’s wedding-floor proposal didn’t just miss the mark, it detonated. Season 3 picks up in the “humiliating aftermath” of the failed proposal, with the couple’s future hanging in the balance. And, as the official tease reminds us, so does Colin’s.

“It Would Be Cruel Not to Show You What Happens Next”

If you’re still wincing from that cliffhanger, you’re not alone. Brammall and Dyer addressed the fallout directly in a joint statement: “After the season 2 cliffhanger, it would be cruel not to show you all what happens next, and we can’t wait for you to see it. Getting to make Colin from Accounts continues to be a total thrill for us, and we’re pumpled (pumped & humbled) that people have enjoyed the first two seasons so much. That’s what they say to our faces, anyway.”

That blend of sincerity and self-deprecation has always been the show’s sweet spot. Since debuting, Colin from Accounts has followed Gordon, a microbrewery owner, and Ashley, a medical student, whose lives collide after a car accident involving an injured dog they later name Colin from Accounts. What begins as a painfully awkward meet-cute turns into a messy, honest portrait of two people learning how to choose each other, flaws and all.

Season 3 promises more of the cringe-inducing honesty and emotional vulnerability that have defined the series so far. The difference now is the stakes feel higher. A proposal rejected in public tends to do that.

The Gang’s Back (And Then Some)

Returning cast members include Emma Harvie, Genevieve Hegney, Michael Logo, Helen Thomson, Darren Gilshenan, Virginia Gay, Annie Maynard and Tai Hara. Joining the ensemble this season are Thomas Cocquerel, Nikki Shiels and Mark Trevorrow in undisclosed roles.

Behind the camera, Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios are once again steering the ship. Director Trent O’Donnell returns to helm four episodes, with Madeleine Dyer also directing four episodes, keeping the creative DNA firmly intact.

An Aussie Comedy with Serious Global Clout

What began as a sharp, deeply local Australian comedy has become a genuine international success story. The eight-episode first season broke records to become the Foxtel Group’s most watched original scripted series of all time. Overseas, the show won the Gotham TV Award for Breakthrough Comedy Series in 2024, with Dyer taking home Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series. It later scored a BAFTA TV Award nomination in the International category and racked up 19 AACTA nominations across 2024 and 2025, alongside multiple Logie nods and wins for both Brammall and Dyer.

No premiere date has been locked in just yet, though with filming now in motion, the wait has officially become a little more bearable. For fans still replaying that rejected proposal in their heads, at least we know the story isn’t over. Not by a long shot.
