Take a look at the trailer that’s been released for upcoming horror film Come Play, based on director Jacob Chase’s creepy 2017 short – which we’ve included below as well.
It’s time to meet horror cinema’s new monster, Larry, who really just wants to be friends. In this case, he’s chosen to make friends with an autistic young boy named Oliver (Azhy Robertson, Marriage Story). For some reason, Oliver’s parents (Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr.) don’t approve.
This one looks quite good. There’s a good amount of creepiness on display in the trailer, even it does show off a little too much of Larry. Take a look at the trailer and then watch the short film that served as the film’s conceptual predecessor. Could this do for Chase what David F. Sandberg’s short Lights Out did for him (Annabelle: Creation and Shazam! followed his horror film adaption)?
Come Play will open in US cinemas on October 30th.

The film is produced by The Picture Company for Amblin Partners.
