That’s right, around 33 years since the release of classic Eddie Murphy comedy Coming to America, we’re actually getting a sequel.

The film is heading to streamer Amazon Prime Video in under three months – and they’ve provided our first look with a number of official images. As you can see above and below, Murphy is back as Akeem and he is joined by returning original cast mates Arsenio Hall, Shari Headley, John Amos and Louie Anderson. Among the additions: Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones, and Kiki Layne. And yes, the motley barbershop crew is back as well.

The sequel will find newly-crowned King Akeem and his trusted confidante Semmi (Hall) on an all-new adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation back to the borough of Queens, New York. Why? Akeem discovers he has a long-lost son (played by Jermaine Fowlerr) and unlikely heir to the throne of Zamunda.

Directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan), Coming 2 America will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from March 5th, 2021.
