We’ve been hearing rumours if this for a while now, but it’s finally been confirmed: Prison Break is coming back.
Fox has verified that a new Prison Break event series has been ordered, with stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell set to reprise their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.
Original Prison Break producers Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead are returning to the series, which premiered on Fox back in 2005. The series ended in 2009 after four seasons.
As many no doubt remember, the original series saw Miller star as Michael, a young man who hatches an elaborate plan to prove his convicted brother’s (Purcell) innocence and save him from death row. There’s no word as to what the plot will be in this new run, but it’s interesting to note that Miller and Purcell are both coming back.
Scheuring, creator of the series, will also be on board as showrunner and writer.
