‘The Conjuring 2’ Featurette Interviews the Real People Behind the Haunting

An interesting new marketing piece for The Conjuring 2 aims to highlight the real-life events behind James Wan‘s upcoming horror film.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren, the married couple that took on many paranormal investigations during their career. One of the biggest cases the Warrens reportedly tackled focused on the “strange happenings in Enfield,” London, where a single mother and her four children were apparently attacked by evil spirits.

“The thought of it. I think if I had to go through it again, it would kill me,” says a visibly shaken Janet Hodgson, who was one of the real-life children -played by Madison Wolfe in the film- involved in the Enfield events.

It’s an intriguing little featurette, complete with “real recordings from the Warren files,” and regardless of how much you buy into the realities of the overall story, it’s an enticing piece for what we’re hoping will be a creepy follow-up. Wan aced it with The Conjuring, scaring up strong reviews and an impressive $US318 million worldwide. Hopefully the Aquaman director doesn’t disappoint.

The Conjuring 2 will be hitting Australian cinemas on June 9 and U.S. cinemas on June 10.
