‘Creatures’ Trailer: ‘Dark Crystal’ Team Bring Aliens to Town in Puppet Comedy Horror

Take a look at the official teaser trailer that’s been released for Creatures, an indie horror-comedy that reminds of Peter Jackson’s early work (Braindead, Bad Taste).

From puppet creation team Stitches and Glue, who have worked on a number of big projects such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Game of Thrones and Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the film follows a group of astronomy students who get more than they bargained for after finding an injured alien who is being targeted by a group of bloodthirsty alien creatures. The injured E.T. is described as “one adorable little bugger that YULE definitely want for Christmas.” Alas, it is but a teaser, so we only get a hint of what the critter looks like.

The teaser shows off some potentially fun indie mayhem, although it would have been good to have it showcase a bit more of the film’s humour. Hopefully there’s an entertaining balance of thrills, spills.. and cute puppetry (?) here.

The film is directed and co-written by Chilean-born filmmaker Tony Jopia, whose previous indie efforts include Cute Little Buggers and Cry Wolf 3D. Creatures is scheduled for a release on Christmas.
