The first trailer has arrived for Daddy’s Home 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2015 comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.

The follow-up adds Mel Gibson and John Lithgow to the mix, playing Dusty’s (Wahlberg) macho father and Brad’s (Ferrell) ultra-affectionate father respectively. The idea is to have the whole family together for a perfect Christmas, but the arrival of these two will throw everything into chaos.

Daddy’s Home pulled in $US242.2 million worldwide from an estimated budget of $US50 million, providing Paramount with a nice little hit and the opportunity for a franchise starter. Sean Anders returns as director and co-writer for the sequel, which could offer a good amount of fun with these two new cast members.

Daddy’s Home 2, also starring Linda Cardellini, John Cena and Alessandra Ambrosio, will open in the U.S. on November 10 and arrives in Australia on November 23.

Official synopsis for Daddy’s Home 2:
