Horror-drama series Damien is no more.
A&E has opted not to renew Damien, a television take on the horror film franchise The Omen.
Starring British actor Bradley James, Damien told of an older Damien Thorn, a man who discovers his origins and must cope with life as the Anti-Christ.
The series was originally set up at Lifetime, which had given the project a straight-to-series order back in 2014. A&E Network then acquired the project in April 2015, pushing the season to ten episodes by ordering another four.
Unfortunately, low ratings remained a constant issue. The final episode aired to season-low numbers on May 9.
Damien creator and showrunner Glen Mazzara, who had previously worked as an EP on AMC’s The Walking Dead, took to Twitter to share his thoughts regarding the cancellation:
This hurts to say but #Damien will not be getting a second season. Thank you from all of us to our amazing fans.
