Dave Bautista Might Not Be Back for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

Just because all the buzz around Disney’s firing of Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker James Gunn has somewhat quietened down now, doesn’t mean his supporters are any less peeved at what went down.

One of the most outspoken supporters of Gunn has been wrestler turned actor Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the Marvel films. Bautista was quick to tweet that he was “NOT ok with what’s happening to him” after news first broke and then reiterated his unhappiness with Disney a few weeks later, posting, “It’s also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis.”

So, you turning up in Vol. 3, Bautista?

“It’s a bitter-sweet conversation — um, no it’s a bitter-bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn,” Bautista has said in a televised interview on The Jonathan Ross Show.

“They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely. To be honest with you I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”

Kevin Hart was also a guest on the episode and jokingly attempted to hold Bautista’s temper down: “I’ll tell you what… I don’t want to be here if he gets upset so I suggest we change the subject.”

“I’m not afraid to admit the way I feel,” was Bautista’s key point on the topic. Indeed, agree or disagree with his stance, there’s no denying that he’s unafraid to stick with Gunn – no matter what.

As Bautista said, Disney has now put Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on hold while it attempts to regroup on who will take the helm next. Crewmembers were dismissed last month.
