Deadpool’s two mutant buddies (well, sort of) are going to be back for his next chapter.
The metallic Russian mutant Colossus and the unimpressed, tweet-finishing young mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead will both be returning for Deadpool 2, which is currently in pre-production.
The folks over at Collider got the confirmation from writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. When asked if Colossus and Negasonic would return, they responded:
PAUL WERNICK: I can’t say how much they are…
RHETT REESE: I think we can say. Yeah, they’ll be in the sequel.
WERNICK: Yeah, they’ll make at least an appearance.
Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapicic were fantastic as Negasonic and Colossus respectively, adding some much-needed world expansion and complimenting Ryan Reynolds’ seemingly tailor-made part. There’s no word as yet on how much they’ll have to do in the sequel, although “at least an appearance” does suggest that the two characters won’t have huge parts. We’ll see.
Deadpool 2, which will also include Domino and Cable, among other characters, is scheduled for US release on March 2, 2018.
