Finally: a Deadpool movie is actually happening.
Ryan Reynolds is to reprise his role from the highly disappointing 2009 Wolverine flick, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in a new film said to start filming this March.
According to Global News, the X-Men spin-off film will be filming in Reynolds’ hometown of Vancouver, Canada. The production has apparently booked two months at North Shore Studios.
While Reynolds has himself confirmed the casting (tweet below), no other cast members have been announced. That said, there are whispers that Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones) and T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) may also be on board.
Canada will also be the home of another X-Men pic, Bryan Singer’s highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse. That film will start filming this summer (U.S. season).
Deadpool, to be directed by Tim Miller (creative supervisor on Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), is currently set to hit U.S. cinemas on February 12, 2016.
