20th Century Fox has released a new red band trailer for Deadpool, the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-starring superhero pic.
“You’re probably thinking this is a superhero movie, but that guy in the suit just turned that other guy into a f*cking kebab!” Reynolds’ titular merc says in this entertaining, proudly non-PC red band trailer. There’s plenty of violence and quips thrown about here, but the real goodies are in the new bits of footage, which include a look at Gina Carano’ Angel Dust and Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead in action.
While it would be nice to have Reynolds star in a strong hit, there’s much more riding on Deadpool than a quality picture for Reynolds’ charisma. Fox wasn’t particularly keen on bringing Deadpool to life in his own adult-oriented outing, but the demand was almost deafening when that test footage was leaked. If Deadpool goes well, financially speaking, it means we’ll most likely be getting more studios backing superhero film with higher classifications. Fingers crossed.
Deadpool, also starring Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, and T.J. Miller, hits Australian cinemas on February 11 and the U.S. on February 12, 2016.
