Check out this “First Look” featurette that’s been released for upcoming Apple TV+ series Defending Jacob, starring Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery, and Jaeden Martell.
Based on the 2012 New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by William Landay, the limited series follows an assistant district attorney (Evans) who finds himself torn between his duty to uphold justice and his love for his child when his son is suspected of a brutal murder.
That first trailer showcased a riveting and highly dramatic series, and this marketing piece furthers that nicely. So far, it seems this one will be hard to turn off until it’s finished. “There’s a cliffhanger for every episode,” says Evans, while Martell says, “It’s not shot as a TV show, it’s shot like an eight-hour movie.”
Defending Jacob comes from writer Mark Bomback, who co-wrote features such as The Wolverine and Dawn & War for the Planet of the Apes.
Not long now! Also starring Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Sakina Jaffrey, Betty Gabriel, and J.K. Simmons, the series will premiere on Apple TV+ on April 24.
