Here’s Who Dexter Will Go Up Against in the Revival Series

Showtime

We now know who it is that Dexter will be taking on in Showtime’s upcoming revival series.

Set to play Dexter’s rival in the 10-episode limited series is Clancy Brown, a renowned character actor who’s played villains in a huge variety of films and series, from Highlander, to The Shawshank Redemption, to Billions.

As was first reported by TV Line, Brown will be playing a character named Kurt Caldwell, an individual with a lot of power and a tendency to get ruthless if you step in his way. More beneath his pic…

Here’s the official character description:

“Caldwell was born and raised in the town of Iron Lake. In fact, some consider him the unofficial mayor of their small town. He’s realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for… God help you.”

There’s no word as to how exactly Dexter and Caldwell’s paths will cross. There’s some speculation online that this “small town” could be near to the lumber company we saw Dexter working at during the show’s polarising finale.

Michael C. Hall is reprising his role as the titular serial killer, reuniting with showrunner Clyde Phillips (a writer and executive producer of Dexter‘s first four seasons).
