BBC America has dropped a new trailer for Doctor Who‘s upcoming 10th series, which finds The Doctor teaming up with a new companion, Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie).
Peter Capaldi continues on as the time and space-travelling Doctor, and although there aren’t many plot details known as yet, the trailer below does offer a nice look at some of the misadventures he and Bill will be getting up to.
According to the bits of info BBC has dropped, the Time Lord will be meeting Bill at the university where he works. And she’s going to be an inquisitive one, too. According to Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat: “Bill is someone who asks the questions that nobody has asked for 53 years!”
As with many companions that have come before, we’ll be getting a bit of a new angle on The Doctor thanks to Bill, who Mackie describes as “funny and geeky and vulnerable”.
Series 10 will apparently also be a nice point for newcomers to jump in.
“You’re getting to see the Doctor all over again through a very different pair of eyes,” Capaldi told BBC. “In fact, we went to particular pains to make sure that episode one is really episode one. It could be the first episode you ever see. It explains the entire mythos of Doctor Who — in the two minutes it takes — and you can start there!”
Doctor Who season 10 will be kicking off in the UK in April. No exact date has been announced as yet.
