“My wife Lauren, as well as my two baby girls, and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19.”

Dwayne Johnson has taken to social media to reveal that he and his family all contracted COVID-19 “from very close family and friends.” In a solemn 13-minute-and-a-half video, the wrestler-turned-Hollywood superstar shared their diagnosis and how the virus has affected the family for the past “two and a half to three weeks now”.

“I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family. And for me personally, as well,” Johnson said.

There was, however, good news. “I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good — we are on the other end of it,” Johnson said. “We are on the other side, we are no longer contagious, and we are, thank God, we are healthy. And we got through COVID-19 stronger and healthier.”

As for symptoms, Johnson said that his two little girls experienced sore throats, but “it was a little bit different” for both he and his wife, Lauren Hashian. “We had a rough go, but we got through it.”

Johnson also shared some advice for others based on what he has gone through, pointing out that people should be enforcing “greater discipline” when it comes to isolating, who it is that you have over to your house (he suggests COVID testing for family and friends before any visits), and the importance of ensuring your immune system is at peak condition. “We have to control the controllables.”

Among the projects ahead for the busy star: Disney’s Jungle Cruise, Netflix’s Red Notice and DC film Black Adam.
